Wide range of activities to take place across the destination for fitness enthusiasts and beginners 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 22, 2018:   Dubai Festival City, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s fully integrated mega project, will host the Opening Carnival weekend of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2018.

The opening weekend to the month-long Challenge kicks off on October 26 and 27 with action-packed events and activities taking place across the destination providing residents and visitors with an engaging and exhilarating experience.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge is the flagship fitness initiative by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The 30x30 Challenge urges people from all walks of life to commit to a minimum of 30 consecutive minutes of daily activity for 30 days. It aims to take Dubai one step closer to making it the most active city in the world.

In keeping with the objective to make fitness accessible to everyone, the Opening Carnival weekend will see activities at Dubai Festival City Mall that cater to various interests and age groups including yoga, obstacle course, climbing wall, foot table tennis, FIFA World Cup activation, Tread Wall, Target Football, Cross Bar Challenge, dance, Zumba classes and more at Festival Bay area. There are also fitness classes including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muai Thai, boxing and MMA sessions all day long. 

Other activities include exclusive classes for ladies which will see them take part in power yoga, CrossFit, kickboxing and more under the supervision of trained professionals from Guava Pass. There are also activities for children such as climbing cones, Rodeo Bull, Trampoline, Snookball, Kids boot camp sessions and toddler play areas located at the Kids Zone. 

For those looking for indoor activities, there are a number of options to choose from including Techno Rowing Centre and the Immersive Trip by Les Mills that combines high energy multi-peak cycling workout with a journey through digitally-created worlds.

The fitness activities continue from Festival Bay all along the scenic promenade up to Marsa Plaza with adrenaline-filled Dragon Boat competitions while there are also kayaks available for water-sport enthusiasts for fun and fitness activity on the water. 

To celebrate the Opening Carnival weekend, Dubai Festival City Mall will also have a stunning firework display and a special IMAGINE show at Festival Bay.

In keeping with the fitness theme, there are also various F&B areas that will serve a range of healthy juices and sandwiches.
