November 25, 2018: As part of its efforts to promote innovation and advanced research in Sharjah and the UAE, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) has announced that it is participating in the one-day ‘FutureTech Construction Summit’ to be held this month in conjunction with the Big 5 Dubai 2018, the largest and most influential construction event in the Middle East.

Under the theme ‘Empowering Innovation in the Construction Ecosystem,’ the ‘FutureTech Construction Summit’ takes place in the opening day of the four-day Big 5 event on November 26, 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Construction industry professionals are set to attend the summit to explore not only the future trends in the industry but also the various ways to achieve higher productivity at lower cost and greater sustainability in their projects through technological innovations.

Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, said: “Key lecturers are presenting case studies showing the pioneering experiences of different leading construction organizations in their digitalization efforts. Attendees can learn from these experiences and apply the same in their own projects to guarantee success in today’s digital world. They will also have a chance to take part in the panel discussions that will dominate the summit. There will be an interesting exchange of ideas and expertise, which are expected to contribute to the development of the construction industry as a whole.”

“Taking part in the event is a reaffirmation of our commitment towards bringing the academes and construction industry together in collaborative ventures. It will encourage the creation of knowledge-intensive companies as well as highlight the research works being undertaken at the Sharjah University City that will benefit businesses and organizations. We are participating the Big 5’s ‘FutureTech Construction Summit’ as we share the vision of industry-university linkages and entrepreneurship which will bring in technological change and innovation in the region,” Al Mahmoudi added.

SRTI Park, which aims to attract and host knowledge-intensive businesses with interests in water technology, renewable energy, environmental technology, digitization, production design, architecture, transport, and logistics, has been continuously promoting various activities to transform the emirate into a global hub for innovation, research and entrepreneurship.
