28th November 2018, Dubai, UAE:   Dubai Carbon has enabled yet another key energy player to enter the UAE renewable energy market, following the signing of an agreement with energy experts PLC System S.r.l.

Mr. Francesco Esposito, Sole Director of PLC System S.r.l signed a joint venture agreement with the CEO of Dubai Carbon, Mr. Ivano Iannelli signaling the increasing growth of Dubai Carbon’s portfolio of renewable energy partners, strengthening their position as the region’s renewable energy experts, and supporting the U.A.E.’s commitment towards a greener economy.

The partnership between the two leaders in the renewable energy market will enable access to advanced systems required to generate renewable energy and in turn achieve the stringent targets set out in Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy. PLC System S.r.l will supply and install photovoltaic solar panel systems around Dubai, an essential part of the UAE’s strategy of building a sustainable and renewable energy Emirate. The agreement comes after the latest IPCC report warns that we need to limit the increase in global earth temperature by 1.5oC by decreasing our dependence on fossil fuels.

Mr Francesco Esposito, Sole Director of PLC System S.r.l commented: “With more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, PLC Systems S.r.l, one of the operative company controlled by PLC Spa, a listed company on the Italian Stock Exchange, is an established provider of renewable energy solutions and are well placed to bring our knowledge and expertise to the region to help achieve the ambitious goals set out in the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy. We embrace the opportunity to work with regional renewable energy consultants, Dubai Carbon”.

Ivano Iannelli, CEO of Dubai Carbon commented: “In light of the stark facts detailed in the recent IPCC report and the targets of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy, we need to harness more renewable energy in Dubai and the region. Partnering with PLC System S.r.l gives us access to innovative renewable energy technologies and together we aim to increase use of renewable energy resources in order to meet the targets set by the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy whereby 7% of Dubai’s energy will come from clean energy sources by 2020, 25% by 2030 and 75% by 2050.
