Unique art exhibition dedicated to UAE's leaders marks Burjeel Day Surgery Centre's first anniversary
Abu Dhabi, December 10, 2018: To mark the achievements and accomplishments in the Year of Zayed, Burjeel Day Surgery Centre is organizing a very special art exhibition to celebrate the legacy of the founding father of the Nation by encouraging and promoting young talent. Marking one year of operations, Burjeel Day Surgery Centre is opening its doors to visitors to a unique exhibition, in association with Etihad Modern Art Gallery.
Titled ‘The Seeds of Today: A Tribute to the Nation’s Leaders’, the exhibition showcases how locally-based artists can incorporate Emirati values and culture into their artwork, and how they envision the future of the UAE. The theme of the exhibition revolves around reliving the past, while keeping an eye on the present and into the future.
The exhibition will feature the works of up-and-coming artists in the UAE. These young and talented artists bring a fresh and new perspective to the Emirati art scene, be it new media, a unique style, or a completely unexpected vision.
For ‘The Seeds of Today: A Tribute to the Nation’s Leaders’, they have attempted to answer burning questions like –‘How can we as expatriates preserve Emirati traditions while keeping up with the latest trends?’; ‘How do artists see the future?’; ‘What is the next step for artistic talent in the country?
Amir Firdaus, COO – VPS Healthcare, said, “At VPS Healthcare, we believe that the art of healing goes beyond medication. The environment of the clinic creates a soothing setting for our medical experts to treat patients more effectively. This is the motivation behind our collaboration with Etihad Modern Art Gallery.”
“We are happy to convert Burjeel Surgery Centre into a canvas for talented artists, as it creates an environment of well-being. With initiatives like this, we go beyond the healthcare industry, providing support and a platform for young talent in our community,” added Dr. Fadi Baladi, Medical Director and Consultant - Internal Medicine.
The Chairman of EMAG Group, His Excellency Khalid Sedeeq Al Muttawaasaid, “As the generation that has witnessed the creation of the union, we have been a part of the dynamic development of the country. Part of our vision is developing the artistic and cultural atmosphere in the city, and inspire new talent, while still maintaining our heritage. Innovation is at the heart of the progress the UAE has made, and we want to continue to light that fire in our youth by offering them support and providing them the right platform for their creations.”
Opening day: Sunday, December 9th, 2018.
