Continuing to win accolades for its exceptional F&B offerings, the 5-Star Airport Hotel’s Pastry Chef Achira Kularatne, won 3 gold medals and a trophy in the 13th Villeroy and Boch Culinary World Cup in Luxemburg, held from November 24 – 28, 2018. With teams from 75 different nations participating Chef Achira represented the UAE Team in the individual categories at the culinary world cup. A team of 52 jurors, who are chefs from different countries, were tasked to evaluate the teams' creations, based on- appearance, composition, accurate and professional preparation, service (execution, portions, innovation and choice of material). Combining the latest and most innovative methods in baking with his passion, over the course of 5 days of the competition he won a gold medal for Pastry Artistic 01 and 02 categories. Besides bagging two prestigious accolades, Chef Achira also won a gold medal for Pastry Art category as well as a trophy for being the overall winner in Pastry Art!
