Advanced facility offers quality & cost-efficient cancer treatment options to patients worldwide

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2 February 2019: Apollo Hospitals Group took part in the recently concluded Arab Health 2019 in Dubai to put the spotlight on the state-of-the-art services of its groundbreaking Proton Cancer Centre, the first of its kind in South East Asia.

During this year’s Arab Health, the largest healthcare event in the MENA region, a team of specialists from Apollo Hospitals was on hand to answer queries from both visitors and fellow exhibitors from across the globe. The team was led by Mr Jithu Jose – Head. International Division (Middle East and South East Asia) and Ms Shubhra Singhal – Business Development Manager (Middle East)

Aside from the Centre’s services, Apollo Hospitals also discussed the priority areas for research and development (R&D) being carried out by the Proton Cancer Centre to form new methods of prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of the disease. The Centre, which provides organ-specific cancer management and treatment, makes use of the highly precise proton therapy designed to directly target tumours, especially in difficult-to-access areas.

In his message, Dr K Hariprasad, Group President Apollo Hospitals, said: “Arab Health was a global platform that enabled us to highlight the progress made by the Centre over the years. By doing so, we were able to demonstrate the Group’s commitment to help reshape the healthcare community in the Middle East, and the rest of the world as we continue our efforts to connect with larger communities based on a belief that healthcare is a shared global responsibility.
Moreover, joining the event was an opportunity to tackle our current largest expansion programme and promote India’s medical tourism industry, with an aim of attracting more health travellers and carving a niche in this segment.”
The first Proton Cancer Centre offers specialized, quality, cost-efficient and effective health services and treatment options to patients from all over the world. The inception of the Proton Cancer Centre is expected to add value to India’s entire healthcare industry.

The Apollo Hospitals’ delegates joined the more than 84,000 healthcare and trade professionals from 160 countries who convened at the Dubai World Trade Centre to capitalize on the Arab Health’s vast learning and networking opportunities. Apart from showcasing the pioneering achievements of the Proton Cancer Centre, they also exchanged experiences and expertise with their international peers, industry leaders, and pioneers, to name a few.
