Ahead of the commercial launch & rollout of 5G, all UAE residents can visit du’s main shops in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to learn about the enormous benefits and potential of this technology
Dubai, UAE, May 5, 2019: du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), is inviting UAE residents to visit its flagship stores in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, starting May 8, to experience 5G technology firsthand and learn about the benefits they will receive when it launches commercially, and once 5G compatible devices become available in the market. With the future of 5G coming closer to reality than ever before, the telco is calling on the people of the UAE, businesses and government entities to be ready to harness the endless benefits and advantages provided by this technology.
With its smart infrastructure fully prepared to run 5G and enable all customers – individuals and business – to reap its benefits while pushing the digital agenda forward, du is one step closer to empowering digital transformation that will benefit the various economic and social sectors within the UAE.

Fifth generation cellular wireless connectivity (5G) promises to deliver incredibly high data speeds, extreme low latency, ultra-high reliability, energy efficiency and extreme device densities, which will be realized by the development of with the 5G new radio access (5G NR) technology. The initial phase of the 5G NR Technology will deliver unprecedented high data speeds, then the technology will evolve to deliver the remaining set of capabilities.
Over the last few years, du worked closely with their partner ecosystem to elevate the potential of its next-generation mobile network infrastructure. With the aim of building more than 700 5G-enabled stations by the end of 2019, both companies will be one of the first providers in the world to roll out a 5G network.
