Al Bateen Academy adds the Primary Years Programme to its International Baccalaureate offering
Registration for FS2 and Year 1 are open now at the Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Academies school
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 12 May 2019: Aldar Academies, Abu Dhabi’s leading provider of private education, has announced that Aldar Academies Al Bateen Academy will begin offering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) from September 2019. The IB PYP compliments the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) already available to Al Bateen Academy’s post-16 students, extending the advantages of the globally-focused learning pathway to even more children from the youngest age. The PYP at Al Bateen Academy will initially open to students from FS2 and Year 1, and registrations are open now.
With an early grounding in the IB programme’s unique inquiry-based approach, students can expect to excel once they reach the DP, already familiar with the rigours of the worldwide programme. The PYP mirrors the aim of the diploma to broaden the minds of students and develop them as inquisitive, critical thinkers in and outside the classroom. The PYP curriculum does so by following six transdisciplinary subjects, meaning students tackle the same issue across different subjects and therefore gain a deeper understanding of each individual study area.
“Aldar Academies makes a clear commitment to deliver the highest standards of education and inspire a love of learning among students,” commented David Hutson, Aldar Academies Al Bateen Academy Principal. “This commitment is reflected in the new IB Primary Years Programme at Al Bateen Academy, being a globally-recognised curriculum that aims to create a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime. We want to not only teach our students about the world but help them take control of their learning, ultimately growing as confident, self-motivated individuals,” added Mr Hutson.
Aldar Academies’ IB Programme aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better world through intercultural understanding and respect. Through this programme, the organization encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
