DLD launches first Ramadan football tournament for its sectors
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 30 May 2019: Dubai Land Department (DLD) recently held the first edition of its Ramadan football tournament for its sectors. The tournament, sponsored by Sobha Realty, was organised by the Registration and Real Estate services sector in collaboration with the Employee Happiness Committee at the Amity School in Al Qusais.
At the end of the tournament, which was attended by the CEOs of DLD’s sectors, and a large number of DLD’s employees and the public, HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, and Majid Al Marri, CEO of the Registration and Real Estate services sector at DLD, honoured the participants and the winners, where the Registration and Real Estate services sector came in first place.
Majid Al Marri said: “The tournament was organised in order to encourage communication between colleagues, entertain them during the Holy Month of Ramadan, develop competition in a sportsmanship, and stimulate the values of teamwork. Such activities help strengthen bonds between employees outside the work environment, have fun and enjoy their time, enhance their athletic abilities, and raise their morale to enjoy good health.”
Al Marri added: “I would like to thank Sobha Realty for sponsoring this tournament and helping us organise a successful sports event in its first edition. We would also like to express our gratitude to all the colleagues who supervised the tournament, and to all the sectors who participated. I would also like to congratulate the winning team.”

It also stimulates positive competition among them, improving their abilities to participate in internal and local sports challenges in line with DLD’s responsibility towards its employees to encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
