• Free speed upgrade for majority of eLife packages with TV complements UAE’s No 1 global ranking in fibre optic network  reach
• From Eid, the entry speed for all eLife Unlimited plans is now 250 Mbps, permanently

Abu Dhabi, 01 June 2019:  Etisalat customers will now experience one of the fastest broadband speeds in the region from the comfort of their homes, enhancing their experience while using multiple smart devices at one time.

Today Etisalat has raised the benchmark for home entertainment by delivering an incredible 12x greater broadband speed on its advertised entry plan compared to just a year ago. The speeds have now more than doubled for eLife home entertainment packages permanently, at no extra charge.

This upgrade is a result of the company’s long-term vision and strategy of ‘Driving the digital future to empower societies’ with Etisalat continually investing in innovation, next-generation technologies and services to enhance the network. The UAE is ranked number one for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) penetration across the world for a third year in a row.

Khaled El Khouly, Chief Consumer Officer at Etisalat, said: “This Eid we are delighted to gift our valued home customers this permanent speed upgrade to eLife Unlimited and eLife Value pack customers. This speed increase represents a phenomenal upgrade of broadband speeds across the board, and this is especially noticeable on our entry plans from just last year going from 20Mbps to 250Mbps.”

“Superfast broadband is essential to support an increasing number of Internet-capable devices in the home. At Etisalat, we are committed to deliver blazing internet speeds, exclusive and rich TV content at the most competitive prices.”

The entry-level plan, ‘eLife Starter’ will now offer 250 Mbps; The unlimited Sports and Entertainment plans offer 500 Mbps and with Premium plans offer speeds towards 1 Gbps.

Existing customers of the older generation of eLife triple play plans called ‘eLife value packs (Family, Sports, Entertainment, Combo and Premium) will also enjoy a speed doubling.

‘eLife Unlimited’ allows subscribers to enjoy all the premium content from major TV broadcasters, media and content companies such as MBC, OSN and StarzPlay on one box to ensure non-stop entertainment is delivered to every household in the country.

The speed upgrade is automatically applied to all eligible customers without any changes to their commitments or any need to opt-in, they will simply enjoy the new speeds.
