Ajman, United Arab Emirates (August 8, 2019):   The benefits of becoming a freelancer for those young people who have completed their higher education, will be one of the main topics discussed at International Youth Day, where Ajman Free Zone is a sponsor. The event will be held on Thursday August 8th.

The event, an initiative by Ajman Youth Councils, part of The Federal Youth Authority, is being held to mark International Youth Day, an annual celebration of the role of young men and women as essential partners in change, which was begun in 1999 by the UN Global Assembly.  International Youth Day 2019 will examine how Governments, young people and youth-led and youth-focused organizations, as well as other stakeholders, are transforming education so that it becomes a powerful tool to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In support of this agenda, other topics to be presented at the Ajman event will include the Improvement of education quality standards, the use of technology in education, and transitioning from an education specialty to the job market.

Sales Director of Ajman Free Zone, Majid Al Mulla, will speak to an audience, comprised of government representatives, stakeholders, education providers and young people about the opportunities that freelancing can bring, and the myriad sectors where sole practitioners can enjoy a lucrative and fulfilling career.   The list is long and includes, Education, Health & Beauty, Media, IT and Technology, Architecture & Interior Design and IT and Technology.

H.E Fatma Salem, Acting Director General of Ajman Free Zone comments: “We are very pleased to be supporting this excellent event, focused on the development of young people and their contribution to society and the economy.

This will be a great opportunity for visitor to learn about the advantages of starting a business and how we can support that endeavor here in Ajman.   We know that there are thousands of young people out there who have a will and vision to establish their own business, and Ajman Free Zone exists to make the initiation of this simple.   The support services that we offer are numerous and we will be strongly communicated this message.  Any young person who has contemplated operating as a freelancer should come along to learn more about turning their vision into a reality.”

Ajman Free Zone has granted 60 new freelancer licenses in 3 months and anticipates that this number will increase significantly in line with the global trend which shows a boom; the US predicting that by 2020, 50% of its workforce will be freelancing.  From a global distribution perspective, North America shows the largest proportion of freelancers at 50.7%, Europe has the second largest distribution of freelancers at 29.3%, and Asia is in third place at 11.3%.
