AU Supports Bright Dentistry Students with New Scholarship
Ajman-UAE: Sept. 24, 2019: Ajman University (AU) and Dr. Majd Naji, Chairman of Liberty Medical Group (LMG), as part of their social responsibility towards students, have launched an all new scholarship.
The promising scheme, named: “Dr. Majd Naji Endowed Scholarship”, targets bright students in the College of Dentistry.
The move followed a landmark agreement signed by both parties to establish the new scholarship that provides, in perpetuity, an annual scholarship at the College of Dentistry of Ajman University.
AU Chancellor Dr Karim Seghir said Ajman University spares no effort to spread the ‘Make it happen’ spirit in every nook and corner, and “support all students, particularly those who are brilliant and face challenges, to help them continue their studies, and turn their dreams into a reality”.
He added, “By matching the investment returns earmarked for scholarships, Ajman University will double the yearly amount of funding available to eligible students; be they high school graduates or already studying dentistry in Ajman University.”
Dr Seghir indicated that the 2020 QS World University Rankings has listed AU in the top 2.8% universities worldwide and among top 1.7% institutions in the Arab world.
“Each of Ajman University’s 24 undergraduate and 12 graduate programs, let alone other diverse training programs, offer academic rigor and hands-on experience.”
The new scholarship supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman, and Chairman of Ajman University’s Board of Trustees, as well as the mission and strategic goals of the institution, Dr Seghir underlined.
“AU will continue to fulfill its mission to meet the needs of students, alumni, employers, and society through quality and up-to-date education, scholarship and community engagement.”
On behalf of AU and hopeful beneficiaries, Dr. Seghir expressed deep appreciation to the Liberty Medical Group and the efforts of Dr. Majd Naji, Chairman of the Group, for having conceived the idea together with AU and leading the team work in making it happen.
Dr. Majd Naji, CEO, Liberty Medical Group, said education is the foundation of the future. “To this end, it is absolutely essential that students have access to world-class education and these scholarships are our way to reinforce this very foundation.”
“With this Scholarship, we hope to attract top talents, who are passionate about dentistry, and provide them with the right opportunities to create new frontiers in this thriving field.”
