
Union Coop Honored by Dubai Chamber for the Seventh Consecutive Year
The prestigious CSR Label recognized Union Coop’s efforts in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for the seventh year in a row
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - October 06, 2019: Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, has been awarded the Dubai Chamber Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label for the seventh consecutive year. This is a recognition of the retail pioneer’s distinguished efforts in the field of corporate social responsibility and its commitment to develop responsible practices, its role in supporting vital sectors through participation and organizing community initiatives and environmental – friendly activities.
From Union Coop, Mr. Mohammed Berregad, Director of Admin Affairs Dept. received the award from H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber during a facilitating ceremony held at the Dubai Chamber headquarters. Mrs. Dareen Jamal Awida the Deputy Director of Business Strategy & Corporate Development at Union Coop also attended the ceremony among other senior officials from Local institutions and companies.
Mr. Berregad expressed his happiness on this consistent achievement, he said: - “Community contribution is the core of Union Coop responsibilities and winning the Dubai Chamber CSR Label for the seventh consecutive year demonstrates the keenness of Union Coop as a National economic entity that makes effective community contribution with realistic goals and tangible results to meet the aspirations of our wise leadership.”
“Union Coop is working hard to become a role model for other organizations in the field of community contributions, as a responsible and sustainable institution,” commented Berregad.
The Dubai Chamber CSR Label was launched in the year 2011, aimed at offering a free framework for evaluating responsible practices and help companies define their strategies towards these practices. Consecutively earning this prestigious CSR label affirms Union Coop's constant tangible efforts in the field of corporate social responsibility and its commitment towards the society.
Dubai Chamber’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Label also contributes towards the establishment of an accountable and sustainable Business community, because obtaining this label makes companies operate in a specific framework to apply the best responsible practices that meet their own needs and their clients' expectations at the same time.
