Peru has products that are unique in the world in various fields, ranging from agricultural products and crafts to its gastronomy,” Mr. Torres elaborated.

BUSINESS WITH PERU
Peru is one of the ten major suppliers of food in the world. The UAE ranks fifth on average in Peruvian ex-ports to Asia, and four of Peru’s top five export markets are in Asia. Peru has signed 17 trade agreements with major economies of the world including the USA, China, the EU, APEC and Pacific Alliance, among others.

PROMPERÚ positions Peru in the global scene by promoting the nation’s image as a tourist destination and producer of value-added products, thus contributing to the nation’s sustainable and decentralized development. Aimed to boost the exports of the agricultural sector, PROMPERÚ has developed sector wise national brands like ‘Super Foods Peru’, ‘Coffees from Peru’ and ‘Alpaca del Perú’ for textiles.

Peru has an extensive network of trade agreements, which generate opportunities to develop the exports. The UAE is a market with high purchasing power, thus the right market to focus the efforts of Peruvian companies.

In 2018, non-traditional Peruvian exports to the UAE reached USD 444 million. The trade until July in 2019 reached USD 429 million showing a 235 per cent growth compared to the same period of 2018. Peru currently has trade agreements with the main economies of the world, such as the US, China and the EU. It also belongs to trade blocks such as the Asia-Pacific (APEC) Economic Cooperation Forum and the Pacific Alliance.

PERU AT EXPO 2020 DUBAI
Peru leads the Latin American nation’s massive preparation for Expo 2020 Dubai, for this November 3, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism will attend the groundbreaking for Peru at the Expo 2020 site in the presence of top officials.

As the theme of the country's participation, “Timeless Peru' the curved lines that predominate in the architectural design of the Peru’s pavilion evoke the path that Peru has traveled throughout its existence, an infinite path that is nourished by numerous influences and events that have shaped our identity. Like the logo of Marca Perú ('Peru Brand') and the spiral shape that the letter P adopts, this path begins at a point in time and from there it is born, travels, extends, stops and returns to its origin.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be one of the most highly-attended world expos in history. About 10 per cent of the Expo 2020’s total visitors, estimated at 14.5 million people during six months between October 2020 and April 2021, are expected to visit Peru pavilion.
