Empower starts construction of its new headquarters worth AED 280 million
Dubai, UAE, 6th November 2019: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, announced the beginning of construction of its new headquarters in Al Jaddaf, Dubai, at a cost of AED 280 million. The building is expected to be inaugurated in Q1 of 2021.
The new headquarters includes two buildings; an office building and a residential building, both will be having a 3-storey underground parking as well as shops. Each building consists of 10 floors; the office building includes staff offices and shops, while the residential building consists of social amenities, restaurants, and green areas for residents and employees.
Empower highlighted that the total built up area of the new headquarters will be 730,000 square feet, of which 555,000 square feet is for the office building, and 175,000 square feet is for the residential building containing facilities, services and shops.
The headquarters will be built according to the LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council, which is internationally recognised to assess the design, construction, and operation of environmentally-friendly and high performance buildings.
The new headquarters will be easily accessible from Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and can accommodate a huge number of customers and employees. It also includes parking spaces and other services to ensure the safety and satisfaction of customers.
“Empower’s new headquarters that is currently under construction, will be completed in Q1 of 2021. Through this new project, we are promoting our investments and offering customers innovative solutions to provide them with a seamless experience,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
“Design, construction, and operation of environmentally-friendly and high-performance buildings have been taken into consideration in the designing of both the buildings, to support the preservation of the environment, combat climate change, and support national and global sustainability standards,” added Bin Shafar.
“The new headquarters is a new chapter in our journey towards expansion, and supports our continuous growth strategy,” continued Bin Shafar.
Empower provides district cooling services to more than 1,090 buildings, catering to more than 100,000 customers. The company operates more than 1.43 Million Refrigeration Tons (RT), providing environmentally friendly district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Bluewaters, Jumeirah Group, Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Ibn Battuta Mall, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai World Trade Centre Residences and Dubai Design District, International Media Production Zone and others.
