Dubai Fitness Challenge Continues to Inspire the City

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 07 November 2019:   With just over a week to go for Dubai Fitness Challenge 2019, the citywide fitness initiative is kicking the action into an even higher gear. With an incredible array of free citywide fitness events, activities and wellness sessions on offer, people of all ages, abilities and levels of fitness can join the movement and make strides towards a more active lifestyle.
 
 
Dubai Run 30x30 on Sheikh Zayed Road will take place on November 8, as the iconic highway welcomes runners and athletes of all ages and abilities to come together and show their support for Dubai Fitness Challenge. The 5km fun run is perfect fun start to your morning with friends and family, while a timed 10km run caters to seasoned runners aged 18 years and above.
 
 
Make sure you visit DFC’s dedicated Fitness Villages with family and friends to try out a variety of free activities and classes. Kite Beach Fitness Village presented by ENOC in association with Etisalat and Meraas continues to be open to all from 7am to 9pm from Saturday to Wednesday and 7am to 11pm from Thursday and Friday. The beachside venue hosts a number of different activity zones including the DEWA Beach Sports Arena where you can book times online for a variety of sports, Emirates NBD Water Sports and Aqua Park where you can enjoy the waves, Fitbit Spinning Zone with stationary bikes, and the Etisalat Mainstage, amongst others. To keep track of your body composition, visit the Daman BMI activation in the Village.
 
 
The Festival City Mall Fitness Village presented by DEWA in association with Fitbit & Al-Futtaim, open from 12pm to 10pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 12pm to 12am from Thursday to Saturday, is a mall-wide maze of fitness zones for everyone. There are only a few days left to try your hand at some of the fun challenges in the DEWA 30X30 Skills Zone for a chance to win a daily prize as well as a grand prize of AED 50,000 in Dubai Festival City gift cards.
 
 
Alternatively, head to the Fitbit Fitness One and Fitbit AI Zone to join the city record 1 billion steps with Fitbit, or be in sync with lights and water effects with the IMAGINE Fitness Workout in partnership with Fitness First. For a bit of an adventure, rent a bicycle at the Dubai Chamber Cycling Hub and ride to the Dubai Chamber Beach Sports Zone at Marsa Beach for beach activities from 3pm to 7pm.
 
Those looking for something closer to home or work can head to Fitness Hubs located in neighbourhoods around Dubai for a daily workout located. Below are the fitness hubs that are active during the upcoming period of DFC 2019:

Dubai Design District: Join Dubai’s most photogenic hub for a cool take on free fitness at The Block for one week and experience a schedule of fitness activities with Adidas and TAG Heuer

Quranic Park: Presented by RTA in association with Dubai Municipality, this hub features a kids’ park with inflatables and a play area, along with a running track and a cycling hub with 100 free-to-use bicycles.

In addition to the Dubai Run 30x30 on Sheikh Zayed Road this weekend, there are many more exciting events to watch out for till the end of the 30 day challenge. Basketball lovers from 12 to 18 years of age have a reason to celebrate with the Nike x NBA Basketball Clinics taking place on 8 and 9 November at Kite Beach. The two-day clinics offer players a chance to train with top NBA accredited coaches, as well as a customised NBA x Nike jersey. 
 

To find your centre and refresh your mind and body, try Global Village’s Yoga Day Out on November 8 from 7am to 12pm. The free to attend session at the newly-reopened venue will be led by Allie McLaughlin and Neha Duseja, ambassadors from activewear brand lululemon, and is open to participants over the age of 15. There’s also a number of online resources to help you get and stay fit – visit the Find Your 30 to see workout videos, nutritious recipes and advice on fitness, mental health and wellness. The website is also home to City is a Gym, a virtual map that highlights various locations around the city, each with a special locator and QR code that connects participants to a workout video unique to that location.


Residents across Dubai can join in and be ‘In It Together’ with DFC 2019 by registering on the Dubai Fitness App or the DFC website for access to a multitude of fitness and wellness activities in the city.
