Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 07, 2020:      Deloitte’s D-180 program has just launched in the Middle East. D-180 is a digital mentoring program integral to Deloitte’s community response efforts to COVID-19. The program targets university graduates in their first few years in the workforce as well as high school and college students across the Middle East to provide them with mentoring and real work exposure by Deloitte volunteer professionals.

Deloitte’s D-180 program aims  to equip mentees with support and skills to find meaningful work in the new economy. Deloitte mentors are paired with mentees to support them through virtual meetings along their skills building and employability journeys. They will also provide them with exposure to the world of work, and support them in setting and pursuing educational journeys for entry to the job market.

“The Deloitte D-180 program is tied to our aim to Connect for change in our communities. In these unprecedented times we are living in, new ways of work will soon become the norm and digital mentoring is a natural extension to our current in-person mentoring programs,” said Rana Ghandour Salhab, Talent and Communications Partner, Deloitte Middle East. “The virtual mentoring program which spans 180 days will provide young people with opportunities to engage with Deloitte volunteer professionals to gain work and career insights and learn from their experience”.

D-180 is a Deloitte WorldClass program and supports our commitment to impact 200,000 futures in the Middle East region by 2030 through education and skills-building. The program is one of the platforms for Deloitte volunteers to give back to the community through their expertise, skills, and knowledge.

“Leaders are not born; they are made. Mentorship is invaluable because Deloitte mentors will assist talented young men and women graduates in navigating their early careers, opening  up opportunities for them, and bringing them work and market insights. Taking a young mentee on a journey of world of work exploration can truly make an impact on their future whether as future employees or entrepreneurs.” concluded Salhab.
