“We'll Get Through This” Campaign Continues Amid Remarkable Interaction by Government Departments

Sharjah, May 19, 2020:

The recently launched campaign by the Sharjah Consultative Council, SCC, represented by the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, is witnessing a considerable interaction by the heads and representatives of government authorities and departments in the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as media outlets, radio stations, and social media platforms.


Held under the theme “We’ll get through this”, the campaign aims to highlight the stimulus package adopted by the Sharjah government to support the public and private entities, business sectors, and individuals and to curb the economic repercussions of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
In this context, the SCC published, on its social media pages, a video highlighting the campaign objectives and messages, in addition to daily posts that underline the resolve and determination to continue the journey of building and sustainable development, regardless of the challenges, so that the Emirate of Sharjah will always remain at the forefront with a present and future full of achievements.


Innovative initiatives


His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General, SCC, Praised the great interaction of government authorities and departments and society with the campaign which represents a message of gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council for their wise directives to launch the economic stimulus package which motivated the public and private sectors, and the business community.


This generous initiative has underlined the solidness of Sharjah’s economy and its readiness to deal with all circumstances and changes to the business environment and the strength of this economy to put forward innovative solutions and initiatives that ensure the continuation of the economic activities in Sharjah and its cities.


Boosting Sharjah’s position as a regional leader


His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), commended the pivotal role of the SCC and its keenness to communicate with all society segments. This has been clearly apparent in ‘We’ll Get Through This’ campaign which sheds light on the stimulus package adopted by Sharjah Government to support public and private sectors, business sectors, and individuals. 


This campaign, which covers all institutional and communal aspects, also reflects the importance of the economic stimulus in strengthening business sustainability and reinforcing the private sector journey in light of the current global changes. It also demonstrates the stimulating and supportive business environment of Sharjah and its attractiveness to foreign direct investment by enhancing the confidence between the public and private sectors.


“Among the stimulus package adopted was a three-month exemption of the annual fees for businesses renewing their license. This would help maintain Sharjah’s position at the global level and as a regional leader in terms of providing the appropriate climate and the optimal environment for customers and investors,” Al Suwaidi concluded.


Cooperation & coherence


His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said: “The great response to this campaign reflects the cooperation and coherence between all government institutions to drive businesses forward in the whole economic facilities in Sharjah. At Sharjah Police, we are keen to support the sustainability of businesses through strengthening stability and security for all economic sectors in the emirate and providing all forms of support, assistance, and facilities, and harnessing all resources to help them move forward with their business without disrupting their operations.”
We are also keen to tackle all the issues that may hamper businesses and economic sectors form driving economic development and from creating a happy and prosperous society.


Guaranteeing investments


Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone), hailed the campaign objectives, emphasizing the remarkable interaction of free zones companies with it through their social media platforms.
Al Mazrouei added: “Sharjah is in a position to guarantee and develop direct foreign investments by enhancing confidence between the public and private sectors to come back stronger than ever and to offer a world-class experience to celebrate together with our investors as major contributors to the milestones we have achieved and made us a leading investment destination. '


Optimism and confidence 


His Excellency Hamad Al Mahmoud, Director of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation “Ruwad”, underlined that the campaign instills confidence and optimism for the capacity of Sharjah’s economy and its ability to enhance its leading and competitive position. It also empowers institutions and companies to boost and revives their businesses through a host of incentives.


Al Mahmoud emphasized Ruwad’s keenness to support entrepreneurs and SMEs owners to ensure their business continuity through the implementation of growth-stimulating incentives that underpin projects and businesses and help them conveniently carry out their operations and responsibilities that would eventually serve the economic development.
