Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 04, 2020:   Dubai-born director Aziz Zee has launched a new short film on Coronavirus titled #Lockdown: Quarantined - Hate spreads faster than the virus. The film has been released under the banner of Crescendo Music and Films and Psychotic Brothers and touches upon sensitive topics like fake news and mental health in the wake of the pandemic.

The film revolves around life during lockdown and how the fake news contributes to distress and gives rise to unnecessary fears that ultimately affect the mental health of people. It exemplifies how fake news spreads faster and more easily than this virus and is just as dangerous.

Currently in Mumbai, Aziz, who has earlier worked for direction and screenplay in projects like music videos and short films, said, “The virus is not the actual enemy it is the sentiments and the qualms that it germinates. The search for a vaccine for the virus seems to have taken off in earnest solidarity among scientists, but we seem to be hurtling down the cliff towards the other enemy – of fear, hate and stigma.”

He added, “As we are all locked in our respective homes, it is essential that we don’t give up t fake news and take care of our emotional and mental health just as much as we are worried about our physical well-being. The movie has a strong message that underscores the importance of working on your mental strength while we stay at home to contain the spread of this contagion. The film has already garnered a positive response from my family and friends across India and Dubai.”
Aziz is a professional film director, who has worked predominantly in Bollywood including in movies like Plot 666(in amazon prime), 1978 A Teen Night Out, Ek Kahani Julie Ki, along with music videos like Barish ke Bahane, the first Hindi song release of ace Punjabi singer Babbu Mann, and Salaam-E-Ishq. Has also worked with singer Armaan Malik, Kunal Ganjawala and Nakash Aziz.
