Pirelli Kick-starts Nationwide Tyre Safety Campaign
Customers can receive a free contactless tyre check and report using state-of-the-art technology, from the comfort of their own home
Dubai, UAE – 21 July 2020: Pirelli, the world-leading tyre manufacturer and global symbol of Italian industrial excellence, has launched a nationwide tyre safety campaign to ensure drivers in the UAE have road-safe tyres as they get back behind the wheel following long periods of their cars being stationery.
To book their free tyre test, customers can visit a dedicated website to register, after which an operator will contact them to schedule an appointment and request the location. A representative from Pirelli will then come to their home and run a scan on the tyres using a compact handheld tool called a T-scan featuring laser technology that will generate an electronic report on the status of the tyres. The full report will be shared with customers within 24 hours via e-mail or text message, with them never having to leave the house.
The report shows customers the condition of the car’s tyres along with the braking distance with the T-scan including a swift tread depth scanner, alignment diagnostics and ability to measure over 600 points across the tyre with precision. Pirelli is the only brand in the UAE to use this state-of-the-art unique tool allowing them to do the scan remotely rather than having customers visit their workshops.
“When a car is stationery for a long time, this can create defects on the state of the car and its tyres. Pirelli’s focus is our customers’ and the communities’ comfort and safety, therefore we were quick to introduce this contactless experience, allowing to keep the community safe at home, but also ensure their safety when they are ready to get back on the road,” said Alberico Avogadro, Managing Director Middle East & GCC, Pirelli.
Joining this initiative on community safety, Pirelli collaborated with some of the most prestigious global brands, car manufacturers and tracks, including McLaren, Lamborghini, Roger Dubuis, Aston Martin, FCA group, YAS Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome amongst others. Customers of these partners can either avail the free test from home through registering via the Pirelli link or visit their manufacturers’ service centre to receive the test along with their service. Members of Pirelli’s partner clubs SuperCars Majlis and Porsche Club UAE also have access to this service.
