Abu Dhabi, UAE, 16 August 2020: National Geographic Abu Dhabi (NGAD) and Almarai announced today the launch of the 10th edition of ‘Moments’ annual photography competition, which has established itself as one of the largest photography competitions across the Middle East and North Africa.

Held under the theme of ‘2020 Moments’, this year’s competition invites budding photographers from around the Middle East and North Africa to capture this year’s extraordinary moments of our changing world, from ‘Passed Moments’ to ‘Postponed Moments’ and ‘Inspired Moments’, and share them on www.natgeo-moments.com.  The competition is open from 17th of August until the 15th of October 2020 and entrants can submit up to 10 images to the website.

Whether taken with a phone or professional camera, entrants are encouraged to use their creative lens to narrate visual stories that best define a world that has been hushed, paused and forever changed following recent events.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the ‘Moments’ competition is part of a regional photography talent platform developed by National Geographic Abu Dhabi to promote and nurture local photography talent. Since its inception, the competition has had over 250,000 entries submitted by passionate photographers, with the images submitted taking viewers on a rich, visual journey to the farthest corners of the Middle East and North Africa.

This year’s competition judging panel will feature Mohammad Muheisen, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner and National Geographic photographer and Hussam R. Abdulqader, CMO, Almarai.

‘Moments' is held for the 7th consecutive year in partnership with Almarai, the largest vertically integrated dairy company in the world and MENA's largest food production and distribution company. The company has been a strategic partner of National Geographic Abu Dhabi and the Moments Competition since 2014, with a shared vision and commitment to support Arab budding photographers, through offering them exposure and the possibility to be discovered on such a prominent platform.
