August 27, 2020: A role model of excellence and success, our hardworking Emirati women and their contributions to society are key to expediting the UAE’s development process and strengthening the country’s global leadership across all fronts.

Themed, ‘Preparing for the Next 50 years: Women are the Support of the Nation’, this year’s celebration of the Emirati Women’s Day highlights the role of our female citizens in our quest for significant advancement and growth. Leading the efforts to promote their welfare and empowerment is our wise leadership’s recognition of their important place in the UAE’s journey for the next 50 years. The move of our wise leaders to adopt human development, gender equality and women empowerment strategies have led to our women boldly taking on top-level positions in key sectors and actively engaging in more challenging tasks that are crucial to the country’s sustainable development. Obstacles have been removed as well, enabling them to play their part in our society’s progress more confidently.

At Ajman Free Zone, we support fully the empowerment of Emirati women by offering them equal access to all opportunities. This commitment is evident in the fact that they occupy 50 per cent of leadership roles and account for 65 per cent of the total UAE nationals working in the free zone. The figures are a testament to our sustained initiatives to help them become an active contributor to the development of the free zone sector in the country.

Inspired by the legacy of our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, our initiatives fostering women empowerment have helped boost the UAE’s rankings on gender equality and human development indexes. We are keen to embark on similar endeavors, and, during this year’s Emirati Women’s Day celebration, we extend our sincere greetings to all of them. Our message to every Emirati woman is that that we appreciate and recognize their efforts and we will continue to push for programs promoting women empowerment and gender equality in Ajman and the entire country.
