Sharjah, 16 September 2020
Do you have what it takes to be Sharjah’s most promising photographer?
If you are a budding photography enthusiast and are employed at any of the Government of Sharjah entities, this is your chance to have your work recognised globally. Hurry, and register on or before September 23 to submit your entries in the Sharjah Government Open category, one of the 10 categories under the fifth edition of Xposure International Photography Festival’s free-to-enter annual International Photography & Short Film Awards competition.
Sharjah Government Open is a restricted category reserved for individuals who are in the employment of the Sharjah Government both at the time of submission and when competition results are declared.
The images can be shot in any format, using any camera, and can fall under the scope of any genre of photography. There are no restrictions on age, background, or experience. The chief criteria for rewarding photographic talent in the Sharjah Government Open category would be the submission of unique, exceptional, and high-quality images.
Hosted by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), the fifth edition of the Xposure international awards honours specialised photography skills in a total of 10 diverse categories of still images in addition to a ‘Short Film’ category for the benefit of filmmakers. The still image competition categories include the genres of Landscape, Portraiture, Travel Photography, Architectural Photography, and Photojournalism, amongst others.
Each category will feature one winner, one runner-up, and five shortlisted photographers. In addition to category-specific winners, one entry which scores the highest in the jury’s assessment will be announced the overall winner.
