From a real classic vintage festive interior including tartan and plaid fabrics and natural elements, to a festive colour theme in naval, grey or modern pastel palettes. Or adding custom designed sparkle to soft furnishings with Sedar’s in house Swarovski Atelier, whatever your style preference Nahel Selo Creative Director at Sedar Global gives his top tips on how to style your festive interior look.

Sedar Global’s Winter- Festive collections, including those from internationally renowned brands such as Armani/Casa, Missoni Home, Versace Home & Swarovski are now available to shop and customise in stores, or from the comfort of your home or online at www.sedarglobal.com.

WORK THE WINTER BLUES WITH NAVAL HUES

Want to work the colour of the season? consider naval tones a trend with staying power. Naval is a warm, timeless shade and when teamed with decorations or accessories is versatile working particularly well with metallics. Creative Director of Sedar Global Nahel Selo comments; “complimenting the transition from warm dark autumn colours to the cooler months, this shade will make your family feel cosy. Make naval colours pop by teaming with tinted glass, tarnished silver, and the use of sprayed silver acorns and cones. For a year- round touch of elegance you can also add some sparkle to soft furnishings such as our custom design Swarovski crystal detail curtains and scatter pillows”.

A MODERN SOFT PASTEL PALETTE

The pastel palette is all about blush pinks, soft blues and pastel mint greens. Creating a harmonious space these tones can be mirrored with rose gold, bronze and pearl shades. Nahel Selo comments “with this look don’t be afraid to mix decorations and create an almost chintz feel, combining decorations with different textures and themes, such as velvet bauble, feathers, roped pearls and crystal pieces” Adding “ to avoid pastel overload add depth with grey accessories and invest in a set of custom designed throw pillows in a one off style that can be used every year for festive or in a design that has longevity to use throughout the year. Our interior specialists in store can create these in any print of your choice or even using a Swarovski crystal pattern created in our inhouse atelier with design completely unique and tailored to suit your home and other soft furnishings”

TRADITIONAL PLAID & TARTEN PRINTS WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS

For a real classic yet cost effective festive feel why not add some plaid and tartan prints to your home in traditional festive reds and forest greens. Work the look by adding in simple, elegant and reductionist decorations capturing the mantra “less is more”. Nahel Selo suggests “set off this nostalgic theme by introducing natural elements into the home including reefs, fresh green branches, twigs of eucalyptus, evergreen and spruce.” Minimalist silhouettes of decoration are compensated using white lighting for a real homely feel for festive. This look is best worked with existing stripped backed interiors including cream and neutral spaces.

WORK THE GREY INTERIOR TREND AHEAD OF 2021

Grey is set to be a big trend colour for 2021, a sophisticated shade this theme is perfect for interiors with white walls. Creating a calming minimalistic decorating theme perfect for contemporary living. Work with linen curtains, textured sofas and pillows, as well as velvet throws and plenty of candlelight or yellow fairy lighting to add warmth. Creative Director at Sedar suggests “use grey in a room or space that has ample natural light and work this decorative theme with pure white, glass and silver festive ornaments creating an atmospheric space to dine and relax with family throughout the holiday”.
