DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 1st April, 2021: Canon announces the imageRUNNER C1530 Series, designed to drive collaboration and support digital transformation in today’s hybrid working reality. With many businesses reviewing the role of the traditional office, workspaces which allow colleagues to truly collaborate, even across distributed locations, are key to success. The imageRUNNER C1533iF and C1538iF A4 colour multifunctional devices are packed with tools for collaboration and can seamlessly integrate into multiple working environments, from satellite hubs to small or medium sized offices, or as an integral part of a fleet of office devices.

KeyPoint Intelligence predicts[i][1] that in 2021 the new style of work will be a hybrid of home and office spaces. This hybrid environment, including remote or shared workspaces, will drive demand for A4 devices which the imageRUNNER C1530 Series is well placed to meet. They enable teams to collaborate efficiently and securely, regardless of where they are based, thanks to a combination of smart digitisation features, intuitive functionality, and seamless connectivity options. The devices build on Canon’s award-winning A4 heritage[2], which will soon be further expanded with an upcoming addition to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX line-up.

Powering collaboration from anywhere

The imageRUNNER C1530 Series offers optional cloud connectivity, enabled by Canon’s cloud-based solution, uniFLOW Online. The solution allows the devices to connect cloud-storage destinations such as Dropbox and OneDrive, meaning users can easily store and share digitised documents with colleagues. Furthermore, uniFLOW Online provides a single platform to connect all working locations, including the ‘My Print Anywhere’ feature which allows the user to securely access and release print jobs from any device connected to the cloud service - perfect for employees who spend their time between different working environments.

Driving workspace productivity

To ensure time in the office is maximised, the imageRUNNER C1530 Series offers the ability to personalise document processes, which cuts down time spent at the device and helps teams get work done faster. The devices can rapidly digitise paper documents with fast, one-pass double-sided scanning, whilst smart scanning features - powered by Optical Character Recognition - cut down the need for manual data entry by automatically extracting information from paper documents. Features like Filing Assist, which uses pre-configured workflows to scan batches of repetitive documents, allow users to input that information directly into workflow software. The intuitive interface also saves users time by making it easy for workers to find the functions they need. The timeline functionality means users can repeat previous settings at the touch of a button, instead of having to re-enter them for frequent jobs.

Simpler management for hybrid working

The imageRUNNER C1530 Series also supports simpler IT management for hybrid working, with native compatibility with Universal Print by Microsoft and uniFLOW Online. Universal Print by Microsoft makes device set up and maintenance easier for devices by moving print infrastructure to the cloud, eliminating the need for onsite driver management. Meanwhile, uniFLOW Online offers simple, centralised cloud-based print management of a device fleet, no matter where they’re based, including control over costs, intelligent auditing, budgeting, and reporting. uniFLOW Online further extends the functionality of Universal Print by Microsoft in terms of security, authentication and accounting. Additional automatic remote-management capabilities help IT teams to manage remote devices more effectively, for example proactively flagging errors, alerting IT managers to consumables status’ and ordering replacements.

Secure in the new world

Working across locations shouldn’t mean compromising on security but it does create new vulnerabilities. According to Keypoint Intelligence, the adoption of zero trust solutions will accelerate in 2021[3] so print devices need to meet customer demands. The imageRUNNER C1530 Series offers inbuilt McAfee Embedded Control, in addition to Canon’s Verify System at Startup which guards against advanced threats and data loss by blocking unauthorised applications. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) support real-time threat detection and security incident response, while Secure Print and Encrypted PDF functions users can protect document and data confidentiality with confidence.

A sustainable future

Canon’s imageRUNNER range is built with sustainability in mind, meeting environmental standards and supporting a more sustainable future. The C1530 Series helps customers reach their sustainability goals, for example through reduced paper and toner wastage.

Hiro Imamura, vice president marketing, document solutions group, Canon Europe said, “As co-working spaces increase in popularity, businesses are looking for compact solutions which truly empower collaboration whilst ensuring security standards are withheld. The imageRUNNER C1533iF and C1538iF expand on our award-winning A4 range[4] and are perfectly equipped to meet these evolving workplace needs.”

Ajay Kumar, Regional Marketing Manager at Canon Middle East, noted: “As companies in the Middle East open their offices to the possibility of hybrid working systems, seamless connectivity, security, and workflow become even more a priority to ensure business continuity. Canon has been building on its print technology solutions that meet today’s needs with the imageRUNNER C1533iF and C1538iF, which offer ideal solutions that enhance employees’ functions amidst multiple working conditions. These printers are designed to enable teams within organizations to collaborate efficiently using an array of smart digitization features and functionality also allowing them to command print jobs from any device connected to the cloud service integrated into the printer system.”

Note: Product will be available Mid-April in the Middle East region
