Berlin/Munich, Germany - 18 Aug. 2021 - The IAA MOBILITY 2021 will be held in Munich from Sept. 7 - 12 and will thus be the first major international event in Germany since the easing of the lockdown restrictions.

With a state-of-the-art concept, the IAA MOBILITY will link the major players in mobility with the big names in high- tech. 'The IAA MOBILITY 2021 in Munich will be the largest and most modern mobility event in the world and is a perfect fit at a time when Europe has set out to be the world’s first climate-neutral continent. Traffic plays a major role in this scenario,' says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), organizer of the IAA MOBILITY. 'We are already uniting the sectors – automotive, digital, bicycle and urban planning – that will belong together in the future. We will present new concepts and invite visitors to debate on the right path to a climate-neutral future.'

We have put together a great program for all trade visitors, automobile and bicycle enthusiasts, and families. 'What will move us next'
Under the heading 'What will move us next,' the IAA Mobility will be using a new concept to present innovations in mobility, the path to a climate-neutral future, and advances in digitization. The heading will be illustrated by numerous cooperative ventures between OEMs and high-tech companies. Visitors can expect an innovative live experience with public formats and forums for the frequently contentious yet peaceful dialogue on the right path to a climate-neutral future for everyone.

Design studies and concept cars
The German automotive industry is still the world’s most innovative. At the IAA MOBILITY numerous developments will be presented that make driving safer, cleaner and more digital including new driver-assist systems and technologies for highly automated driving. Visitors can glimpse what automobile design will look like in the e-mobility era. With design studies and concept cars, the exhibitors will demonstrate the new options created by the switch to e- mobility. Moreover, suppliers will be presenting AI-based high-performance processors capable of controlling all stages of automated and fully autonomous driving in tomorrow’s cars.

On the way to climate neutrality
The innovations along the path to climate neutrality are the over-arching theme of the IAA MOBILITY. The exhibitors will pres ent numerous new developments aiming to further improve the climate balance of vehicles and traffic. So far world premieres have been announced by Audi, BMW, Cupra, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes, Maybach, AMG, Smart, Mini, Renault and Volkswagen. The spectrum ranges from e-models and zero-emissions models with hydrogen powertrains to the latest generation of diesel and gasoline engines. Upcycling schemes – such as making tires out of recycled PET bottles – and the sustainability of the entire value-creation chain – will also be on display. Moreover, large parts of the IAA MOBILITY itself will be climate neutral.

Connecting the high-tech and mobility industries
The IAA MOBILITY links the key players in high-tech and mobility – an important step since the future of mobility will be dominated by digitization and vehicle connectivity. For many companies, new opportunities and business fields will emerge – ranging from the AI-based 'Industry 4.0' and e-mobility to smart data analytics, innovative automation and intelligent assistance systems.

Premiere: driverless parking
At the Messe München car park, visitors can try out autonomous parking: with the joint project 'Automated Valet Parking (AVP), ' the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) is presenting driverless parking. Together with 10 project partners, the VDA is showcasing – for the first time – the technical interaction between a large number of vehicle manufacturers and infrastructure providers. Automated parking demonstrations will take place several times daily in the Messe West Car Park.

New formats and programs
At the 'IAA Mobility Summit' on the exhibition grounds, trade visitors and experts from all over the world can share information on innovative mobility solutions and global innovations.

Automotive suppliers, over 75 startups and leading high-tech and IT companies will be represented in addition to the big-name automakers.
At the 'IAA Mobility Conference' inspiration will be provided by over 500 international speakers from the mobility and digital industries, scientists, and representatives of the political sector and NGOs.
