Teams from government entities face tough qualifying rounds on Day 2 of Gov Games
The second day of Gov Games kicked off in a competitive and enthusiastic atmosphere that reflected the spirit of sportsmanship. The current edition, officially sponsored by MyWhoosh, will conclude today, December 11, 2021, at the Expo Village - Expo 2020 Dubai
In the qualification rounds held on the second day for the government entities, 28 women’s teams participated, out of which six teams gained entry to the finals:
- Abu Dhabi Police obtaining 126.05 points
- F3 obtaining 125.43 points
- Emirates Schools Establishment obtaining 116.64 points
- Dubai Police obtaining 110.27 points
- Dubai Economy and Tourism obtaining 106.31 points
- Dubai Municipality obtaining 101.92 points
The events on the second day also included the qualifying rounds for men’s teams in the government category, where it saw the participation of Ajman Government led by HH Sheikh Humaid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi and the participation of Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Nuaimi, while the Dubai Government Human Resources Department was led by H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al-Falasi, the Director General. The six teams that qualified from day-one and day-two of qualifiers will compete in the last obstacle, “Final Frontier,' in the final round to win the title, Gov Games Champion.
The six men's teams from the government entities qualified for the final round are:
- Ajman Government obtaining 149.58 points
- Dubai State Security Apparatus obtaining 146.51 points
- Umm Al Quwain Government obtaining 145.87 points
- Dubai Police obtaining 143.56 points
- Dubai Electricity and Water Authority obtaining 142.34 points
- Fujairah Police obtaining 141.94 points
The last day of Gov Games will start with the final round of the women’s teams from the Government entities, followed by the men’s teams from the Government entities and then the Community teams.
The current edition of the Gov Games includes an innovative set of challenges that test physical and mental strength and teamwork also attune to Dubai’s position as a leading sports hub and acts as a catalyst for challenges, dynamism, and action.
The Gov Games 2021 is being held with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Al Tadawi Medical Centre, and is officially sponsored by MyWhoosh. The current edition also features many entertaining events and raffle competitions for spectators and the public.
