‘CSR remains a core value at Malabar Gold & Diamonds ever since its inception in 1993 and contributing to the community has been a key part of the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) goals. Ramadan is usually the time we reflect on our actions and contribute to society in whatever way possible. Every year during Ramadan, we engage in various CSR initiatives, aiming to create a difference in the community in and around our area of operations and to drive other organizations, both big and small to initiate such activities that will help the needy.’  said Mr. Abdul Salam KP, Vice Chairman – Malabar Group.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds will distribute both Iftar meals and food provision kits as part of this Ramadan CSR initiative. In UAE, Iftar meals will be distributed across various labor camps in Jebel Ali, Sonapur, and the Sajja industrial area in addition to several needy families residing in Ajman, individuals who have lost their job, and those on visit visas, etc. The food donation drive is being conducted in association with CDA, UAE Food Bank, Dubai Police, MSS, AKCAF, KMCC as well as through the references provided by customers of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.

‘The spirit of Ramadan gives us an added opportunity to exercise humanitarian values while making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.  At Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the Ramadan CSR activity is spearheaded by our team members themselves along with like-minded organizations and associations, together with whom we identify and provide support to the needy in the local communities. It gives me a lot of happiness that we can continue to add goodness to society with the generous support of all our customers, partners, shareholders, and team members, said Mr. Shamlal Ahamed, MD – International Operations of Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
