Art of Students from Qatar and UAE to don covers of Popular GCC magazines
The second instalment of the popular Design A Cover Contest has been won by a student from Dubai, two students from Abu Dhabi and two students from Doha and Qatar. The competition that allows children to express how much they care about inheriting a greener, cleaner, safer and more humane planet on a mass media platform, is one of the most widespread competitions in the region with tens of thousands of children from across the Lower Gulf participating and includes students from every curriculum and medium of instruction. The competition is run by TMG Middle East whose subsidiary TMG Children is the largest publisher for children in the GCC Region.
“The scale and diversity of the talent we have received from Bahrain to Oman, Qatar to Kuwait and from Saudi Arabia to the UAE has made it challenging for the adjudicating panel, who contended that we could not limit the winners to three as had been initially planned and had to increase it to five. Like last year we also have winners at the national level as well as for outstanding entries and eco-creative schools.” said Managing Editor, Rakesh George. The three themes for the three respective magazines for the 2013 edition were Only One Earth for MeKids Junior (ages 3-5), Less Wasted Equals Less Produced for MeKids (ages 3-5) and Eating-Environment-Economy for The Youngest (ages 8-14).
The GCC Champions who will have their artwork featured on magazine covers are:
Devanshi Sengupta from DPS-MIS, Doha, Qatar on MeKids Junior
