The Red Arrows to Loop in to ‘Oasis City' at 10th Al Ain Aerobatic Show
World's premier aerobatic team to enthrall visitors over UAE's 42nd National Day weekend
Abu Dhabi, UAE. October 30, 2013: November 30 will be a red letter day in Al Ain as the world's most famous aerobatic display team, The Red Arrows, performs a thrilling display for the 10th edition of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).
The UAE capital's ‘Oasis City' will see a blur of red between November 30-December 2 as the UK's famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team provides a final push to its 49th display season before stepping into a historic golden jubilee year in 2014.
“This is a fabulous highlight for the show,” said Sultan Al Muhairi, General Co-ordinator for Al Ain Aerobatic Show 2013. “The Red Arrows will deliver a ‘WOW' factor as the team skims low over our heritage heartland trailing its trade mark red, white and blue vapour streaks over our desert skies.”
Since its formation in 1965, The Red Arrows team has flown over 4,500 displays in 54 countries. Today the team is renowned worldwide, acting as ambassadors for Great Britain when displaying overseas.
“Our objective is to enthrall, captivate and inspire millions of people both in the UK and around the world with a series of displays and flypasts at a wide variety of events,” said The Red Arrows team leader Squadron Leader Jim Turner, who has over 3,500 hours of flying time. “We are excited that we are finishing our 2013 season in Al Ain on a high note. We love to fly over the desert which provides us such scenic views and always enjoy the excitement we produce when performing our display routines here.”
The team has displayed in the UAE in the past drawing huge crowds. Squadron Leader Turner himself spent three years in the Middle East until 2010 teaching the Royal Saudi Air Force Aerobatic Team and acting as its official adviser.
“The 2013 season has been an outstanding success for us. We have conducted over 70 displays in the UK and Europe and we anticipate putting up an exciting and unique display for our Middle Eastern fans,” commented Squadron Leader Turner.
This year's Al Ain Aerobatic Show, organised in conjunction with the UAE Air Force, will pay tribute to the Emirates' rich culture and heritage with a series of UAE-themed aerial displays and static attractions, performances and activities.
Already four elite military teams and seven daredevil pilots from three continents have confirmed their participation for the aerobatics show which organisers say will be a total sensory upgrade with bigger seating areas, more engaging activities, superior aerial displays and much more.
