UK-based Bash-P International opens MENA region's first dedicated lifting webbing factory in SAIF Zone

SHARJAH 06/05/2015- The first dedicated lifting webbing factory in the Middle East and North Africa region was opened in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) on Wednesday (6th May 2015).

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, director of SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) officially opened the UK-based Bash-P International- FZE, in the presence of Mohamed Basheer, President, Safety Services Group, senior representatives of the company and dignitaries.

“We welcome Bash-P International’s Nylon Webbing Manufacturing Facility to SAIF Zone and it is encouraging to see more international companies flocking to SAIF Zone, which is surely a sign that we are progressing in the right direction,” Al Mazrouei said after the opening.

The $20 million facility in SAIF Zone will manufacture nylon/ polyester webbing material ranging from 25 mm to 300 mm wide to meet the group’s in-house and market demands

Bash-P International is the flagship lifting equipment manufacturing company of the Safety Services Group which was established in 1979 and is a conglomerate of establishments within the UAE, UK, India, Iraq and the GCC. Based at Papworth, Cambridgeshire, Bash-P manufactures a wide range of products utilizing foundries and quality eco-compliant facilities worldwide.

“We are always striving to provide innovative and the finest lifting products and services to meet the current and future needs of the market. Materials are manufactured as per international and British standards with a safety factor exceeding 7:1.Top quality lifting webbing materials will now be available locally, to meet the ever-growing needs of the market,” said Mohamed Basheer.

“We are keen to set up this facility which can cater to the GCC market and help in expanding our reach to MENA other countries. Our goal is to become a global market leader for quality approved products, complete with professional support services catering to the construction, industrial, marine, and energy sectors”, he added further.

The $210 million net-worth Safety Services Group has major expansion projects coming up across Middle East and Asia within the next two years.

“We are planning to have another Grade-80 Chain manufacturing unit factory similar to the one we commissioned in Cochin (India) early this year,” said Basheer

Safety Services Group is the first organization in the Middle East to provide and implement international, commercial and industrial safety standards locally.
