Dr Awatif Al Bahar, consultant at Dubai Gynaecology and Fertility Centre and Dr Hana Tahwara, Assistant Director of Finance at DGFC took part in this month’s initiative.
They addressed several queries related to infertility treatment and options. They highlighted the Centre’s work and success rates.
Dr Bahar said that advances in fertility treatment has provided couples with better chances of conception. However, she highlighted the need for early diagnosis and management for better patient outcomes, “If a couple have been trying to conceive for over a year, they should visit an infertility specialist, however if they feel anxious or if they are aware of some underlying problems that they have, they should meet a specialist at the earliest.”
DGFC is a government-run centre and one of the leading fertility establishments in the region, The centre has highly specialized clinicians, embryologists and geneticists and provides the highest quality of care at every stage to the couples seeking fertility services.
Al Tahwara, said: “We offer clinical, emotional, psychological and financial counselling to the couple prior to commencing their treatment.”
Al Bahar added: “Moreover, we treat each couple individually by reviewing their clinical history, including earlier failed IVF attempts they may have had and the kinds of techniques used during that time, so that we can increase their chances of achieving a pregnancy by offering them a different approach the second time around.”
