Dubai, UAE, July 4, 2015: Ramadan Night Market, the eagerly anticipated annual event opened at Dubai World Trade Centre, Sheikh Rashid Hall on Thursday. The annual shopping extravaganza was inaugurated by the Chief Guest H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, Director General, Department of Economic Development among throngs of shoppers, senior executives from DWTC, management of Sumansa Exhibitions – the organisers of the event – and guests from the media fraternity.

The event which will run from 2nd July to 11th July, starting at 8pm and closing at 2am every day, has once again managed to draw crowds due to its amazing shopping value, culinary delights and fun activities catering to people from all walks of life and ages. Entry is free for the consumer affair which saw a large turnout as attendees made beelines for over 300 retail outlets, massive food pavilion hosting a variety of cuisines and play areas for kids and adults, among other attractions. This year too, the family gala is expected to draw in over 100,000 visitors.

This is the place where visitors can come to relax, hang out with friends and simply breathe in the amazing environment.”

Buzzing activities, colorful sights and family fun being the hallmark of Ramadan Night Market, the festive environment is a delightful combination of various interests for everyone and caters to every pocket. The market is also peppered with special attractions to keep the shoppers engaged as they go about their business. These include: 

  • Mirror Man: The famous mirror man in all his glitter and shine is set to pose with shoppers as they click memorable selfies. 
  • Living statues: Visitors can get a chance to stand next to their favourite living statues and pose for a picture. 
  • Mascot cartoon characters: Children get memorable opportunity to shake hands and talk to their favourite mascot cartoon characters, the likes of Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Tom and Jerry and a few more.
  • Spot the Mystery Man: Shoppers can have a lot of fun spotting the mystery man, the clues for which are posted on Facebook. The contest, which is held on hourly basis, will continue for the next nine days as well, giving more opportunity to win prizes.
  • Handwriting analysis: The market also offers handwriting analysis. Now is the time to explore your inner self, and understand your talents, strength and weaknesses through your handwriting.
  • Exclusive Henna Majlis: For many ladies, the highlight of the shopping festival proves to be the exclusive Henna Majlis where they can adorn their hands and feet with their favourite henna designs. 
  • Grand Majlis: Representing UAE’s culture and heritage, the event will be hosting a big Majlis where visitors can relax or enjoy the kava and dates on offer.

Win exciting prizes through multiple raffle draws: Raffles draws and chances to win lend the fun and suspense element to consumer fair, and this year, too, the event is offering fantastic opportunities to participate and win. Shoppers get chance to win free tickets daily, courtesy Jet Airways, the official airline partner of Ramadan Night Market. Visitors can also log on to the airline’s website, www.jetairways.com  and avail 10 per cent discount on fare using the code received at the night souq.

Other interesting offers at the market include, Hamilton Aquatics offering five daily prize draws of a 1 week block of Hamilton Aquatics Children's Learn to Swim Summer Programme. Visitors can also try their luck at Boardgame Space which is giving out raffle tickets with every purchase to be entered in a draw to win amazing prizes at the end of the event.

Exclusive fun play areas for Kids, Teenagers and adults: This year, the gaming zones come armed with much more stimulating experiences with a separate Kids Play Area, Fun and Play Area for teenagers and – the star attraction – Play and Win Area!

Offering constructive games and activities, the play areas will give parents peace of mind while they shop, knowing full well that their children are having a great time. While children can enjoy themselves participating in different workshops, climbing mini-walls, playing basket ball, taking rides on merry-go-round and go-carting, teenagers and older children in the Fun Play Area can challenge themselves to mountain climbing and rodeo bull, among other invigorating activities. Other exhibitors include Karim's Creations, BG Fashions, Better Life LLC, Parisvally Perfumes, Stand Forth General Trading LLC, Rivoli Textiles LLC, Eurostar, Al Islami, Al Kabeer Group, Deals on, Haji Ali, Starbucks and Costa Coffee among others.
