UAE's Gamers To Compete For Top Spot at ASUS GAMESFEST

Gamers of all ages to enjoy the high-tempo and exciting gaming experience at Hub Zone at City Walk in Dubai

Dubai, UAE, December 17, 2016:  ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced that it is bringing the first GAMESFEST to the UAE on 16 December 2016 at Hub Zero at City Walk in Dubai. The number one gaming laptop brand worldwide, with a 40% market share, has partnered with some of the leading gaming companies and entertainment brands to host an afternoon of awesome gaming with tournaments including Overwatch 3v3 and the Cosplay Contest. GAMESFEST is free-to-attend for visitors of all ages, from casual players to die-hard gamers, and participants can walk away with fantastic cash prizes and ASUS gift vouchers.

Gaming fans will get the chance to battle it out with their nemesis at the Overwatch 3v3 Tournament where six players go head to head on Control Maps to battle for the best of three rounds. Only one character will be allowed per team, so make sure you choose wisely! Only the most nimble-fingered of competitors will talk away with the amazing cash prizes with top spot earning AED10,000, second place AED5,000 and third place AED3,500.
The UAE’s Cosplay community will be digging out their favourite anime, manga, movie, cartoon and gaming character costumes for a chance to strut their stuff at the Cosplay Contest at GAMESFEST. Children and adults alike can take part and showcase their cosplaying skills and unleash their inner diva. The top two cosplayers will take home AED 3,000 and AED1,500 ASUS gift vouchers respectively, while the third place will earn you the Battlefield Collector’s edition worth AED 1,000.

There will also be the chance to try your luck at the ASUS VR Competition where super-fast reflexes are a pre-requisite in the super addictive Space Pirates Trainer game as player’s fight off droids with all the weapons and gadgets a Space Pirate would ever need. The top scorer will walk away with an AED 1,000 ASUS gift voucher so start honing your skills today.

With IGN Middle East, Microsoft, Pizza Hut, Nimble Games and Gear Up on board, visitors can look forward to an action packed afternoon of gaming competitions, role-playing games, browsing the wide-range of computer products and accessories on show, or simply chilling out at the ASUS Laptop Showcase where visitors can explore the latest series of gaming laptops featuring NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics and Intel® K-series CPUs as well as ASUS gaming laptops with NVIDIA GeForce GTX series graphics.

ASUS GAMESFEST has free entry and is open to children and adults from 4pm – 10pm on 16 December at Hub Zero at City Walk in Dubai. Early registration is recommended for those wishing to take part in the tournament or competitions.
