She said: 'Children are the future and we welcome similar pre-school and university initiatives to the Fazza Championships, to enrich the students about heritage sports and share their spirit of enthusiasm and ambition. They are the champions of the future in these traditional events and they may get opportunities to compete as individuals from a young age as well, to show their talents as we usually have a category for Juniors in the Fazza championships.'

The head teacher of the class expressed gratitude to HHC for their efforts to preserve traditional sports like falconry.

Ms. Amal Hussein said: 'We wanted to show in practice what students study in their school curriculum about heritage activities. The aim of the visit was to ensure students understand the rich legacy of this sport of falconry which goes back to ancient times. Earlier they have only heard about it. Now they have seen for real what falconry is all about and how this heritage sport relates to their national identity.”

A falconer participating in the General Public category Hamad Bu Hulaiba lauded HHC's efforts to elevate the tournament.

'I participated with five birds and have great ambitions for the first or second place in the General Public category. Thanks to my father who gave me the first falcon at the age of nine. I still practice falconry as my hobby as well as breeding birds to take part in local tournaments and competitions.”
