Schneider Electric emerges as finalist in three categories at 2017 Daman Corporate Health Awards
Dubai-UAE – 20 August, 2017: Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in three categories of the 2017 Daman Corporate Health Awards, hosted by MEED. The prestigious awards based on votes by experts in the field - celebrate and recognise organisations for significantly prioritising employee health and promoting well-being through various initiatives.
Commenting on the nominations, Sevda Esenturk, Vice-President Human Resources for Schneider Electric, Gulf Countries & Pakistan, said, “At Schneider Electric, we strongly believe that endorsing the well-being of our people encourages performance, and performance definitely drives well-being. Starting 2015, we placed employee well-being at the heart of our people strategy. We are extremely pleased to see the changes we have managed to achieve in the lives of our employees. The results for this year’s awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held on 25 October, 2017. The three award categories for which Schneider Electric has been shortlisted include:
“Biggest Impact”- Awarded to organisations that show improvements in reducing levels of absenteeism in the workplace, shaping a healthier workforce, and launching wellness initiatives.
“Workplace of the Year”- This award honours excellence in incorporating fitness, relaxation and wellness into the organisation’s operations.
“Corporate Health & Wellness (organisation)” – This award recognises organisations that have taken up the challenge of improving health and wellness amongst their staff.
Since its inception in 2014, the Daman Corporate Health Awards has become an important benchmark of corporate health and wellness across businesses in the UAE. Some of the past winners of the awards include Jumeirah Group, Mashreq Bank, Dubai Holding, OSN, Lamprell Energy, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, DHL Express UAE, Unilever and Aster Healthcare, amongst others.
