  • The school is the current leader at A Level results in Abu Dhabi
  • Students of British Curriculum School Deliver Outstanding Performance in GCSE examinations with even more A* grades
Abu Dhabi-UAE: 24 August 2017:  The latest A Level results of Brighton College Abu Dhabi, the first international school of Brighton College UK, have reflected the high academic standards set by the leading school in the United Kingdom. The name Brighton College is synonymous with outstanding academic achievement, and with 43% A* to A grades at A-Level, 70.49% of grades at A* to B and 25% of the year group achieving 3 A grades or above, Brighton College Abu Dhabi can claim to be the top British School in the emirate.

Of particular note were the achievements of the following pupils:
Edward Garemo               A*, A*, A*
Elise Fitzsimons                 A*, A*, A, A
Kelsi Friedenthal,             A*, A* A
Faisal Shadid                      A*, A, A
Nairne Hopkinson            A*, A, A

At GCSE, the school’s pupils improved still further on last year’s record results. 40% of the grades were A* (37% last year) and 63% A*/A, and as was the case last year, 88% were A*-B. No fewer than 10 pupils had 9A* or better, 13% of the year group. This year was the first in which numerical grades were given in English and Mathematics, with grade 9 being the highest.

Given how few of these were awarded, the school expressed its delight at its pupils securing 15 of these, two in Maths and 13 in English. 100% of pupils taking Mandarin, none of them native speakers, gained an A*. The school congratulated all the pupils, staff and parents on these outstanding results.

Simon Corns, Head Master, Brighton College Abu Dhabi , said: “For the second year in a row, Brighton College Abu Dhabi pupils have demonstrated that they are capable of the highest standards at A level and we are delighted these results. This achievement indicates that they can progress to higher education at the most prestigious universities, including Oxford and Harvard. We are very proud of them, not least because they have also continued to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school and have been outstanding role models for younger pupils and sterling ambassadors for the College and the UAE. At GCSE, we improved even on last year’s spectacularly good results.”

Henning Fries, CEO, Bloom Education, said: “Bloom Education is delighted with the performance of Brighton College Abu Dhabi in the latest A Level and GCSE examinations. I am particularly impressed with the exceptional results of our pupils – they have achieved currently the best A Level results in Abu Dhabi, and the fact that the GCSE results are even better than last year’s outstanding results is commendable as well. These results are due to their hard work and dedication over the past several years. I thank the parents and school staff for their tremendous dedication and wish all the students great success.”

Henning added: “At Bloom Education, our aim is to help students achieve their maximum potential in a positive and stimulating environment through partnership with world-renowned educational institutions, such as Brighton College.”
