
Global Investment in Aviation Summit 2020 launches its second Edition on January 27

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced the launch of the much awaited second edition of the Global Investment in Aviation Summit 2020, which will be held on 27-29 January under the theme 'Enabling Global Aviation Growth through Fund Raising and Key Partnerships'.
The mega event will bring together more than 200 investors and 1,200 delegates including the world’s top leaders in the aviation sector, it will also see participants from selected government officials, aviation organizations, finance & insurance companies, aviation asset owners,
Aircraft operators & logistic service providers and legal consultants.
The Summit presents the most crucial projects and investment opportunities in the international civil aviation sector, which are the perfect window for entrepreneurs and specialists to explore the main opportunities and investment strategies.
HE Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), emphasized the UAE's high position in the regional & international aerospace industry and the ease of doing business in addition to the experience gained in the past few years in enhancing the capacity of its airports. The aviation sector within the UAE continues to achieve remarkable growth rates in passenger traffic, accompanied by development & growth in infrastructure, technical equipment and quality of services provided.
Al Suwaidi said, 'The aviation industry is one of the cornerstones of the country's economic development. The national agenda for 2021 aims for UAE to be the world first in the quality of the air transport infrastructure, thus enhancing the position that the UAE occupies in this sector. It plays an important role in supporting and sustaining the national economy, and contributes to marketing investment opportunities and directing them towards the best possible way, as well as attracting the most important international companies to the local markets.”
He further added, 'Although there are some challenges we face, such as determining the airspace and congestion in the UAE, we achieved great strides in the aviation industry. Its airports have entered the global competition for years, UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) launched the Blockchain technology in the aviation sector during the Blockchain Aviation and Technology Summit held in Abu Dhabi last April under the theme of 'Unlock The Potential”.
The summit program also includes a series of keynote speeches and panel discussions from senior policy makers as well as workshops and lectures sponsored by industry leaders and aviation professionals. The Summit also presents the best practices of the first aviation business incubator “Intelak” which will provide training programs and workshops for trainees who want to learn the secrets and techniques of the sector.
The Global Investment in Aviation Summit has witnessed during its last edition a participation of 850 international delegates and 120 investors from 60 countries around the world, including Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, India , Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, France, Republic of Ireland, Ukraine, Albania, Brazil, Malaysia, Nigeria and many others.
