Smart TVs designed to support 23 languages including Arabic

Dubai, UAE, 18 May 2020:  Sony Middle East & Africa has announced that users can enjoy a personalized experience by using the voice search in their own language on the award-winning BRAVIA Android TVs.

Sony’s voice-activated TVs provide a smarter viewing experience. TV owners can now talk to the remote control in Arabic to search content, stream shows, play songs and check the weather by simply speaking in Arabic to the microphone of their smart remote. Viewers can also talk directly to their TVs, thanks to the hands-free voice search available in selective models. The voice-activated TV can even dim the lights when connected to smart home devices, manage tasks and personal calendars.

Shuichi Mugitani, Head of Marketing, Sony Middle East & Africa, said: “We are proud and delighted to offer our Arabic speaking customers new and innovative ways to experience entertainment. Voice Search helps simplify access to multiple sources of content available on different platforms, with a simple command. The Arabic search feature on Sony Android TVs highlights our commitment to the region and demonstrates how we continue to listen to our customers in delivering optimised solutions and innovations that meet their needs.”

Earlier in March, Sony MEA announced that Shahid, the leading Arabic on demand content app, can be downloaded on Sony Android TVs from Google Play, while new Sony customers can avail a 12 months’ free subscription to Shahid VIP content when they buy Sony 8K, OLED and all 4K Android TV models.

By using the Arabic Voice Search on Sony BRAVIA Android TVs enabled with Shahid VIP subscriptions, Arabic speaking viewers can enjoy a personalized experience and a wide selection of entertainment to suit their tastes.

In addition to Arabic, Sony’ Android TVs voice control is available in many languages, including English, French, Hindi and Russian.

The Sony BRAVIA Android TV offers visuals, smart features and compatibility to various web apps on its latest TVs. With its amazing image processing and partnership with Google’s Android, Sony BRAVIA Android TVs boast class-leading picture and sound quality with several exclusive technologies and features designed to create the most immersive visual media experience possible. It offers the Netflix Calibrated Mode specially developed to enjoy Netflix originals and reproduce the same picture quality on a TV as on a studio evaluation master.

Many of them support the Dolby Vision™ HDR format to deliver striking highlights, deeper darks, and vibrant colours, while Dolby Atmos™ compatibility brings space and realism to the audio to further enhance the viewing experience.
