Pirelli Gets Thrill-Seekers Back on the Track With Exclusive Event
Dubai, UAE, 23rd June 2020 – Pirelli, a leading tyre manufacturer synonymous with motorsports across the region, this weekend kicked off its return to the track by hosting an exclusive track event at the Dubai Autodrome. Attendees from partner clubs SuperCars Majlis and Porsche Club UAE were treated to an evening of adrenaline as they were given the opportunity to track their cars, across the FIA sanctioned 5.39 km motorsports circuit located in Dubailand.
Alberico Avogadro, General Manager, at Pirelli Middle East commented, ‘It’s been a while since we have been able to host our partner clubs to experience our tyres so we were keen to welcome these drivers back behind the wheel and on to the track as soon as it was safe to do so. Pirelli is known for its pioneering innovation and collaboration with performance cars, so car club members have been requesting the return of our events for some time. It was great to see so many come and enjoy this special evening, while ensuring all safety guidelines were adhered to.”
The event kicked-off with 20 guests arriving with their own cars, followed by a safety briefing session to help them understand the track. They then had the opportunity to navigate the track and demonstrate the performance of the supercars.
Porsche Club UAE’s president, Karim Al Azhari, who attended the event, said: “This was an extra special day because Pirelli Middle East brought together the Porsche Club UAE and Supercar Majlis to the Dubai Autodrome Circuit after a long industry shutdown. This shows Pirelli’s passion not only to produce the most amazing tyres, but also its passion for the owners of the cars who choose the Pirelli brand as a lifestyle. Pirelli events at the circuits are the most fun way to enjoy the extreme performance of our cars under safest conditions. There are so many thrilling ways to enjoy the winning combination of Pirelli and performance cars, so I’m excited for many exciting seasons to come.”
In line with the current health and safety guidelines, Pirelli ensured the safety of all guests and drivers by maintaining social distance, making sure masks were worn at all times, and providing all attendees with sanitizer bottles.
