Dubai Culture's Linkedin Initiative Gains Traction as Applications Number Reaches 1200
The long-term, e-learning initiative, wherein the Authority is offering over 100 specialised learning courses, saw a sharp rise in applications
Dubai, UAE, 3 August 2020: With application number reaching 1200, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority’s (Dubai Culture) recently launched collaborative initiative with LinkedIn is gaining considerable traction among creative industry professionals in the emirate and beyond. Since its launch, the number of applications has steadily increased, with the count of approved applications and that ones that received learning licenses from LinkedIn reaching 928 and others still being reviewed for approval.
The initiative launched as part of Dubai Culture’s efforts to align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is positively contributing to the advancement of the emirate’s creative scene by providing creative professions a platform to develop their skills and by supporting them with necessary knowledge to upgrade their talent.
The applications received to date, covered various disciplines, including design (25%), art (18%), photography (10%), editorial (2%), and creative (45%) — comprising content curation, music, production, crafts, student, and film making.
The overwhelming response to the initiative indicates that the strategic collaboration is successfully supporting the community in braving the challenges posed by current times.
The initiative was launched after Dubai Culture and LinkedIn signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support talents in Dubai and beyond, covering three main pillars: an educational programme to provide trainings and learning opportunities for creative professionals, connecting and networking to establish a global cultural network from Dubai, and data and insights for future studies and research.
Through this initiative, the Authority is providing opportunities for professionals in the cultural and creative field to benefit from the e-learning service through 100 specialised learning courses, some of which are tailored for creative professionals who will be granted long-term membership to this service.
